Thanksgiving 2015 Recap
When I was younger, Thanksgiving was my least favorite holiday. I wasn’t that much of a fan of turkey, I wasn’t big on sitting at a table for hours, and I definitely wasn’t favoring holidays that didn’t include presents. 😉
Since then, my preferences have changed. I am now a huge fan of Thanksgiving- especially since I live so far away from my family & it allows me to travel to visit them at least this time of the year.
This past Thanksgiving, I saved up enough time from work to fly out to California and visit my family. 🙂
Love my family!
We had a few wine nights…
Candid shots are the best!
Sisters are great. I love my brothers too, of course, but this break we only had the girls. We decided to head out one day and have a sister day at Disney Land! My dad & step mom joined us later in the night to ride some night coasters.
One thing that we didn’t consider is that the Monday we chose to go, was the first Monday schools let out. IT. WAS. CRAZY.
I’m not a huge fan of crowds, but I am a huge fan of all of them, so we still had a blast.
Jaclyn & myself- [we were pretty pumped]
Jordyn, myself, Quinn, & Jaclyn
Tower of Terror is still my favorite ride!
Sister day!
Once my dad & Deanna joined in on our fun. 🙂
I tried my best to workout, but that lasted all of 2 days. I did make sure to go on plenty of walks & enjoy the outdoors. I decided to take advice from my coffee cup & simply embrace the moment. 🙂
How cute is she! She wrote our ages on our snap 😉
When you need a nap but you’re still a lady. 😉
For breakfast, Jordyn & I stuck with smoothies. This one was amazing! It had:
Nutrient Packed Power Smoothie [makes 2 servings]:
- 1 Gala apple
- 1 pear
- 1 banana
- Frozen raspberries
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 handful of fresh spinach
- 2 big Swiss chard leaves
- 1/4 cup of almond milk
- 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup
Remember that wedding I was the maid of honor in last year? WELL, she just had a baby! I met the little guy and was able to smother him with love and was in awe that we are actually old enough to be parents. We were best friends in elementary school and now I’m holding her baby! Time seriously flies.
HOW CUTE ARE YOU
in loveeee
We also spent some time hitting up the Black Friday deals! Did you guys snag anything good? We didn’t go until around 10am, but I got a dress, phone case, and some jewelry! I stayed on top of my Christmas shopping and did it all during Cyber Monday.
My mom was also visiting her parents in California, so Jaclyn & I traveled a little south and spent the day with them!
Grandparents are the absolute best. How adorable is my Oma? 🙂
Walking on the beach
After walking the beach, I looked at some of my grandparent’s old wedding photos. They were married while on deployment in Japan!
This was definitely one vacation I needed & will remember for a long time. Time with family is too precious- I wish we all lived closer! If you’re lucky enough to be by yours, never take advantage of that.
My trip home was easy and I was unexpectedly upgraded. I took full advantage.. 😉

3 questions for you:
- What did you do for Thanksgiving?
- Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving side dish?
- Did you go Black Friday shopping? If so, what did you get?
