What I’m Listening to on Audible; vol. 1

What I'm Listening to on Audible || sharing my thoughts and insights on the audio book, You are a Badass by Jen Sincero

Has anyone else here hopped aboard the audio book train? I really love to read, although, with the hustle and bustle of life, it's typically the first priority of mine to go out of the window. I downloaded Audible on a whim one day after one of my friends raved about listening to a book on her commute to work and my life is forever changed. I typically listen to books that are motivating whenever I'm in the car and my motivation has already vastly improved. There's something about listening to an inspiring role model first thing in the morning that really gets you geared up to get sh!t done in your day, I guess. ;) My latest audio book obsession has been You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero. I actually loved it so…

What’s on My Nightstand ; vol. 4

What's Currently on my Nighstand || Are you looking for a new book recommendation? I've got you covered! In my latest nightstand series, I'm sharing the 3 books that I'm either currently reading, or have queued up for later! Check it out. :)

It's been a hot minute since we last talked about what books are currently taking up space on my nightstand! I've always loved to read books in their true paper form (I have yet to convert to a kindle- does anyone here use them? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!), but lately, I've also been really into audio books. I'm planning on doing a separate post covering my favorite books to listen to, but thought it was loooong overdue to do a physical reading list! I've found that the books I prefer to listen to are vastly different from the books I prefer to read, so luckily, this series will continue! I've been reading a lot more lately, putting more of an emphasis on creating time for it, so this series should…

What I’m Currently Watching on Netflix

"Good-Shows-On-Netflix"

Like any good Millennial, I have a strong relationship with my Netflix account. Sure, staying in with homemade healthy pizza or having some friends over for skinny 7 layer taco dip and a vodka ginger fizz is awesome, but my favorite way to watch Netflix, past the norm, is when I'm either cooking or baking. Have you guys ever tried meal prepping with Netflix before? The time flies by! Since there are so many times throughout the day I find myself logging into the Netflix site, I thought I'd share what I've finished watching and looooved, I'm currently watching, and what's queued up next. I'd love for you to share what shows, documentaries, or movies you've 'Netflixed' lately below!   1. New Girl The simple background story of this show is that a woman…

What’s on My Nightstand; vol. 3

"Good-Young-Adult-Books-To-Read"

When it comes to my nighttime routine, I'm trying my best to incorporate reading back into my schedule. Everyone has a goal list; mine covers an array of physical bucket list items, to smaller goals that focus on personal growth. For me, when I set aside time to read, I feel much more relaxed throughout the days. I'm not sure why exactly, but I've always found reading to be relaxing, enriching, and something that connects me to new thoughts I hadn't had beforehand. I like to put myself in the story as the character, ditch my everyday life for a little while, and focus on a life of another; either fictional or real. Reading, unfortunately, is one of those enjoyable activities of mine that seem to be the first to be forgotten about. I'll…

3 Books To Read This October

7 Blogs I Read Every Day

What is it about fall that's just so cozy? I'm loving the cooling weather, the pumpkin scented candles & baked goods, and of course, overly fuzzy blankets. Another thing that comes with fall is my reading list jumps up. Since I'm no longer hitting the beach or going out as many nights as I do in the summertime, I try to give my brain more of a break from tv & flip open a book. For the month of October, I'm focusing on more serious reads. In the summer, I'm all about the lighthearted books I can relax with by the ocean, but in the fall/winter when I'm cozied up at home, I like books that make me think on a deeper level. 1. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott Somehow, I have yet to…

What I’ve Been Up To Lately

Southern Tier Beer

I'm always shocked at how quickly time goes. I mean, it feels like it was just yesterday I packed up my things in West Virginia and moved to Florida, but here we are, just hitting over our year & a half mark. Sometimes, it nice to just pause and reflect on what's going on with you right now. As a whole, I think we tend to always be thinking in the future; "I have to study now so that I can get into a good school. I need to go to a good school and obtain a degree so that I can provide for a family I do not have yet.." And so on and so on. I'm not saying preparing for the future is a bad thing, I'm simply stating that it's nice…

What’s on My Nightstand; vol. 2

Good books to read

Is anyone else in complete denial that it's already the middle of September? Now that it's fall (even though it's still in the 90s down here in good old Florida), I thought I'd share with you what's on my reading list for this season. [if you want to read series one of What's on My Nightstand, you can do so here!] 1. Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer Being that it was just the somber anniversary of September 11th, this book is extremely fitting. It follows a young boy on a journey to find what unlocks a key that his father had hidden. After his dad passed away in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, he is looking for a way to search for him in a world in which he is no longer…

What I’m Reading: “Looking for Alaska” Review

Looking for Alaska Book Review

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this post coming.. ;) By now, you've most likely heard of the award winning, extremely popular author, John Green. He's written an array of best sellers from The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns, and the novel I am focusing on today, Looking for Alaska. Looking for Alaska was John Green's first novel and was published in 2005. From Green's recent explosion of popularity from The Fault in Our Stars (which also was a hit movie), he has been honored with numerous awards, his books have topped best sellers lists, and he has become an iconic role model for young adults everywhere. Even though Green's work is primarily for a young adult audience, featuring stories of coming of age characters, he hits home with readers of…
