When it comes to coffee, I'm not too much of a snob. As long as it has caffeine and it doesn't taste burnt, I'm good to go. I've also been drinking coffee since the ripe old age of 5 (blame my grandparents) so I just generally love the taste of it. I love coffee so much that whenever I go to Starbucks, or any coffee shop for that matter, I don't even think to look at the other menu items. I'm also definitely one of those people that just neeeeeeds their morning cup of joe before I can function, and not to be completely dramatic here, but I'm pretty sure part of my blood type consists of coffee to a certain degree. ;) So when Starbucks launched their secret rainbow drink line, I wasn't…

With all things in life, there is a season. When I was about 7 years old, I took on conquering piano, but quickly changed my mind when the instructor tried to get me to move my hand position around the keys. (To be perfectly honest, music was never my forte, I'll leave that gift to my brother, Chris.) Then there's a season for more serious things in life, such as break ups, graduating college, moving down south when not knowing a soul, and that little thing known as picking a career path to stick with. I'm a pretty impulsive person. When I set my mind to something, it's happening. I decided on a whim to pursue grad school for education a little over a year ago, put in countless hours and dollars into pre req courses,…
Justin, Dj, myself, Brian, and Mel Halloween is probably the holiday that most makes me miss the innocence of being a kid. Christmas, Thanksgiving, and those family based holidays you never outgrow, but Halloween is one of those that you can actually be considered "too grown up for". [I don't think I'll ever be one of those people though!] I so vividly remember being 7 years old, dressed as a witch and comparing our candy hauls on the living room floor. Bargaining away my Butterfingers and Milk Duds for Reeses and Almond Joys. I have not yet hit the stage of too old to go out and enjoy myself on this festive holiday, but seeing all the cute trick-or-treaters just gives me all those nostalgic feels. Every year on Halloween, Florida plays Georgia in…
I'm always shocked at how quickly time goes. I mean, it feels like it was just yesterday I packed up my things in West Virginia and moved to Florida, but here we are, just hitting over our year & a half mark. Sometimes, it nice to just pause and reflect on what's going on with you right now. As a whole, I think we tend to always be thinking in the future; "I have to study now so that I can get into a good school. I need to go to a good school and obtain a degree so that I can provide for a family I do not have yet.." And so on and so on. I'm not saying preparing for the future is a bad thing, I'm simply stating that it's nice…
There's something about the familiar that's just so... refreshing. Kelcie | April | Myself | Anna | Amanda This past weekend, I traveled back up to my old stomping grounds of Washington DC for a quick 3 day trip. Some of my oldest (and dearest!) friends from high school are still living up there right outside of the city, so I spent the weekend with them brunching, shopping, wandering the city, and too many stomachaches from laughing so hard to count. One piece that I snagged during mine & Amanda's shopping trip to Tyson's was my very first romper! I've been searching high and low for one for months now so I was extremely excited to find the perfect one right before we went to brunch in Georgetown the next morning. Oh, Nordstrom Rack,…
Southern summers are HARD to get used to. This is my 2nd summer as a resident of Florida, and I am melting! Having a full time job during the summer months provides a difficult task for me each day: what in the world do I wear? When it's 103 degrees outside, and the office is kept cool, your outfit choices can get a bit confusing. I've found what works best for me in my casual professional space during the sweltering months; skirts! They're so easy to play up or down, add a cardigan while indoors and easily remove once you leave. These simple flats paired great and simple statement necklace added a pop of sparkle without being overly flashy. Chiffon fabric tops are a fashion staple of mine. They're light, able to feel a…
When the weather begins to heat up, my food & drink preferences change. I no longer crave cooler weather comfort foods like soup or heartier meals, such as chili (even though it's delish). I begin to migrate towards salads, smoothies, iced coffee, cold wraps, hummus inspired dishes, lighter choices for everyday snacking, and plenty of fruits in different varieties! [My clothing choice also begins to lighten up. ;) ] The other day, it was 86 degrees & there was not a cloud in the sky. We went to one of my all time favorite Happy Hour spots, M Shack. I ordered the [above] drink which was a Green Tea Mojito. I love green tea, and I love mojitos, but together? That apprehensive curiosity quickly turned into die-hard love after one sip. This drink…
When it comes to my personal style, I'm all over the place. There are days where I will spend 45 minutes on my makeup & hair alone, and there are others where I'll hop out of the shower and rock the au natural look. ;) One thing that I really do love is following style icons on Instagram. It's so fun seeing a glimpse into their personal lives, seeing what looks they're pulling off, and if I'm feeling risky, I'll try and pull of similar looks! These 'grammers range from the Hollywood Lights to fellow bloggers. I'd love for you to share with me some of your favorite style icons! :) 1. Blake Lively It only seemed fitting that my #1 girl crush in life would come first. I've loved Blake since she rocked…
