Florida Georgia Game & Halloween Weekend

Halloween Costume Ideas

Justin, Dj, myself, Brian, and Mel

Halloween is probably the holiday that most makes me miss the innocence of being a kid. Christmas, Thanksgiving, and those family based holidays you never outgrow, but Halloween is one of those that you can actually be considered “too grown up for”. [I don’t think I’ll ever be one of those people though!]

I so vividly remember being 7 years old, dressed as a witch and comparing our candy hauls on the living room floor. Bargaining away my Butterfingers and Milk Duds for Reeses and Almond Joys.

I have not yet hit the stage of too old to go out and enjoy myself on this festive holiday, but seeing all the cute trick-or-treaters just gives me all those nostalgic feels.

Every year on Halloween, Florida plays Georgia in the biggest rivalry game of both their seasons. Having my friend group range from being graduates of far away states & cities such as West Virginia, Ohio, Chicago, and New York, we stayed neutral on sides (although we did ultimately decide on rooting for FL since we do currently live in the state), we headed down to the biggest tailgate of the season held at the Jaguars stadium.

It was a perfect 84 degree day, clear skies, and a tailgating could be seen for miles around. We headed down bright and early at 8am to claim a fantastic spot, brought down the corn hole, beer pong, and enough drinks to share. We met so many friendly people, played a ton of games, and had a blast! It was the perfect start to our Halloween.

Around 3, we headed home to take a quick power nap and get ready for the night ahead of us.

Brian lives directly on the beach, right across from the bars, so we met up at his house to finish up our outfits and be in walking distance of our final destination.

Justin & Dj were the characters from the movie Se7en. I had the honor is giving Justin his black eye 😉 .

Brian decided to put on a leather jacket and call it a day. He’s the equivalent to the Christmas Grinch but just in Halloween form and only related to costumes. 🙂

We had a blast going to the bars and seeing everyones outfits!

In the morning, Mel and I woke up at 7am with a HEAVY case of false energy and decided to head to the beach. We hit up Waffle House for the first time ever (I know, crazy- but oh my gosh that place is delish!), went to grab a bloody mary, then headed over the the ocean.

Can you believe Brian has never had a bloody mary before? I was shocked. I LOVE THEM.

Around 11:30, a case of the sleeps came around and we realized we had been tricked by late night false energy. We packed up and headed home, where I had a muuuuch better idea in mind. 😉

I stayed like this for the afternoon hanging out with the kitties & Dj, watching football, and eating pizza. Dj chose white sauce, steak, and green peppers. Mine had extra red sauce, pineapple, and mushroom. Sounds like a crazy combo, but I love it! What’s your favorite pizza?

How was your Halloween weekend?
