Blogging, Tips & What I've Learned

Social Medial Happy Hour : Blogger Series

GreenPalateLife is now almost 3 years old (!!!) It's crazy to think of where I started vs where I am now. My posts have changed, my creativity levels have increased, and I've been pleasantly surprised that no matter how much time has past, there is always going to be something new and interesting to cover. (Yes, that was a big fear of mine when I first started out!) As my blog continues to grow, I'm finding that I'm getting asked a lot more my tips and tricks to keep my blog going. These questions range from the basics of my advice to people thinking of starting a blog, to more complex questions, such as how to actually design a blog, what databases I prefer, how to grow your follower count, the best SEO tips,…

Feel Good Friday; vol. 18

Why hello there, Friday, you are looking rather fine today. ;) This week felt rather long for me, but I have a feeling it has a lot to do with my pending trip to Mexico next week... Dj and I are heading off to Charlotte next Thursday to spend the night exploring the city before we jet of to Cancun to meet my best friend, Sara, and her fiance for the weekend + start of the week! I am super excited; I've never been to Charlotte or Cancun. Anything that you would recommend as a must-see or must-do? This weekend, the plan is to take it easy. I'd like to get some shopping done and deep clean my apartment. Of course, my plans for relaxing weekends never seem to pan out (major case of…

Feel Good Friday; vol. 17

From the post: Top 10 Favorite Motivational Quotes  I'm super excited for this weekend because my best friend, Sara, and her new *~*fiance*~ are visiting me from Houston! Hopefully all the rain doesn't hold up their flight to Jacksonville, but I would not mind if the plane was delayed going back! ;) Our weekend will be jam packed with activities that will revolve, most likely, around the beach. But we may throw in a random trip to explore Amelia Island or head back to St. Augustine! Whatever we decide to do, I'll keep you updated with next week. Do you have anything planned? Whatever it is, I hope it's a good one! In the meantime, here is your Friday dose of positivity & some distraction to hold you until the weekend. What I’ve been…

What I’m Currently Watching on Netflix

Like any good Millennial, I have a strong relationship with my Netflix account. Sure, staying in with homemade healthy pizza or having some friends over for skinny 7 layer taco dip and a vodka ginger fizz is awesome, but my favorite way to watch Netflix, past the norm, is when I'm either cooking or baking. Have you guys ever tried meal prepping with Netflix before? The time flies by! Since there are so many times throughout the day I find myself logging into the Netflix site, I thought I'd share what I've finished watching and looooved, I'm currently watching, and what's queued up next. I'd love for you to share what shows, documentaries, or movies you've 'Netflixed' lately below!   1. New Girl The simple background story of this show is that a woman…

Feel Good Friday; vol. 16

Has it really been over 4 months since my latest Feel Good Friday? It's funny how time can get away from us from time-to-time, but I'm happy to be back this week with a dose of positivity to get you through your final workday before this weekend. This weekend will be jammed packed with activities for me! My friend, Brian, has some friends coming into town and then I'm hosting a Super Bowl party! Are you rooting for anyone? I'm not, I'm just in it for the sangria this year. ;) Here's what I've been reading this week! Eating a vegan, plant-based diet is growing in popularity. To ease into it, many start implementing 1 meal per day on this plan. Here is a week’s worth of meal ideas for $30! An interesting take…

10 Things I’ve Learned Since Turning 25

So, last week I turned 25 years old. A quarter of a century... 25 years... insanity. Apparently, when you turn 25 years old, people start considering you a "grown up" and "able to make her own decisions in life", including daunting tasks, such as making dentist appointments. Side note: I have still yet to do this... sorry, mom. Even though I don't feel as though I'm old enough to actually make my own health decisions and keep myself alive, I thought I'd share some insights I've had since coming to the realization that I'm officially a quarter. (century, that is) 10 Things I've Learned Since Turning 25 1. It's okay to not to be settled into a relationship by now. My single friends (hiii, guys!) are divided into 2 distinct groups: those who are…

What to know before starting a blog

From the post, So You're Thinking of Starting a Blog? Happy Friday, guys! Have you had one of those weeks that felt like it would just never end? That was me this week. On Tuesday, I thought it was Thursday... talk about a letdown! This weekend, we're finally getting those massages. We had them planned for last weekend, but the times ended up not working out so we had to reschedule. I'm really glad about that now, though, since after this week, a massage is definitely needed! Other than that, Tyler and I are planning on getting to work at adding to GPL's YouTube channel! Have you checked out my 5 minute curls hair tutorial? It's a little lonely being the only one, so we're going to fix that ;) . What do you…

Black and white kitten

On Fridays, we look at pictures of cute kittens. ;) TGIF! I'm so happy it's Fri[yaaaay]. I have a feeling that my adoration for Fridays is shared across the board but I can't help but share my excitement with you all. This weekend, I'm getting massages with Dj for our [late] anniversary celebration! I'm sure we'll also squeeze a brunch in there and some pool time, as long as this rain stays away. I also am getting to work on my crafty side as a few sets of my cute nautical cornhole bags have sold! Share with me below what you're getting into this weekend! Whatever it is, I hope it's a good one :) But, for now, your Friday dose of procrastination.  On Embracing Your Inner Foodie: Tara and I share a love…
