The Perfect Coffee 80 Calorie Treat

Happy weekend! And a very Happy Father’s Day to all the great dads out there. :) I’ve been a big fan of Taralynn for over a year now. She’s full of positive energy and finds ways to treat yourself in healthy ways! I highly recommend checking out her blog if you haven’t yet! You won’t be disappointed. This Starbucks order originated from her, but I have adopted it into my own! Now that the summer weather is in full swing, I am backing away from hot coffees and lattes and moving over to iced! This play on a frappuccino is great for these humid days, and only 80 calories. Can’t beat that! I ask for a tall or grande 3 shots of espresso blended up with ice and non-fat milk. It comes out pretty foamy,…

Weekend Update/ Typical Breakfast!

Happy weekend! Dj’s the cutest! While away in working in California this past week, he had my favorite flowers sent to me. :) So grateful for such a caring, sweet guy in my life! I was nervous that these 10 days that he is gone would be spent bored and making myself crazy. I know a lot of people cherish being alone, but I hate it. Luckily, I have made some great friends down here who I’ve spent all week with! Thank goodness for them! Yesterday, my friend Linsey and I went to Georgia to see her family. Her brother lives on the water and it was 90 degrees, so it was a really beautiful day. I love this stuff! Angry Orchard has an elderflower flavor that is my absolute favorite. Perfect for these…

Homemade Whole Grain Mac and Cheese & a Whole Bunch of Random!

I know I’ve been so awful and neglectful lately! As you may know, I am now a “big girl” and have a real job. I’m a Marketing Specialist/ PR Rep, so 97% of the day is spent online. SO, once I get home, I’ve been sideways staring at my laptop, leaving it lonely on my living room table. That’s all changing today, though! I’m officially back. :) This past weekend, Dj brought me to the PGA Players Championship golf tour. He sometimes gets away with having golf on the tv, and it bores me to sleep. So, needless to say, my anticipations for the event were low. After making friends with the bartender, however, my feelings all changed! ;) He sure made a mean Bloody Mary! Watching golf in person is completely different, as…

Sun Dried Tomato Grilled Chicken Salads! (& some very important visitors!)

Can I add “Really Freaking Good Salad Maker” to my resume? ;) Dj and I have had a stream of non-stop visitors these past 3 weeks. We’ve had so much fun. Moving alone to Florida, we’ve had our moments of home-sickness, so having friends visit really has helped! Two of my very best friends since we moved onto the same dorm room floor our freshman year of college, Katie and Danielle, were the second wave! It was so nice to see them. It was like a little glimpse of home. :) We spent our days on the beach taking in all of the strong Florida sun! The next group was one of my best friends I worked at the American Embassy in London last summer, Mina! I hadn’t ever hung out with her on…

Skinny Crispy Sodium-Free French Fries!

First of all, I want to thank Taralynn for showcasing me in her new blog! Taralynn is a big inspiration to me, so I was glowing for days! :) This past week was consumed of packing, driving, more packing, coffee, more driving, unpacking, caffeine overloads, and seeing about 7 states in a matter of 16 hours. However, I have officially made it to Jacksonville, Florida!! My new home. Once I left, Morgantown was pounded with another foot of snow, and I was down here, sweating in 80 degree weather. Its been a crazy, surreal change, but I am embracing this new adventure and chapter in my life! This is our living room… you can hardly see the floor right now! Everything is covered in boxes! Dj starts his job this coming Monday, so I…

Pumpkin Spice Soy Latte!

After a month of chaos, I am embracing this sudden down time. Within this past 3 ½ weeks, I’ve graduated from college, visited family abroad in London, surprised my dad out in California for his 50th birthday, made a quick stop in Philadelphia to celebrate Dj’s birthday, & then made the drive back to Morgantown! It’s been a whirl wind of activity but a ton of fun! :) London’s Winter Wonderland  My sisters and I in California I also turned 23 last Saturday! Growing up, I learned (thanks, Blink 182) that nobody likes your when you’re 23, so here’s to hoping that is not true. ;) Throughout all of this craziness, I haven’t been cooking too much. All of that is now about to change! Starting off with my Lean Shredded Chicken Tacos with…

DIY Body Scrubs! Cute & Quick Holiday Gift Idea

Well, it’s official.. I’m a college graduate! It’s a feeling I cannot put into words.. it’s extremely surreal. I had so much fun this past week with my family coming to West Virginia. They live all over the world, so whenever we can all be together it’s always such a great time. My roomie for the past 4 ½ years! :)  My boo. :) Currently, I am sitting on my mom’s couch in her flat in London, England. She lives overseas and was able to come for the weekend, too! Morgantown was packed with my family and I loved it! I have a pretty big family. When it comes to the holidays, it can be pretty draining on my college bank account. More than that though, I really enjoy personalizing gifts. I think that making your…

Airport Travels. Goodbye, Philly and Helllllo, Southern California!

I have officially made it to Southern California! I landed late last night and was welcomed by warm weather and palm trees. I’ve missed this! Travel days are long and boring. I had a 5 hour flight, followed by a 2 hour layover, followed by another 1 hour flight, so when I finally reached baggage claim I wanted to kiss the ground and do a dance.. (don’t worry, I only thought about doing that)! Traveling can pose a lot of problems for food. I didn’t want to risk eating what they had on the airplane, so before my first flight, I stopped by this quick sandwich and salad place called Green Leaf’s. I was surprised at how fresh and good their options were! I did their “Build Your Own” salad option. I chose: *Mixed…
