Everyday Eats & My Starbucks Order!

Starbucks will always have my heart. In high school, my brother worked as a barista and would always bring me back my favorite coffee order (venti iced chai or grande hot white chocolate mocha)! Since then, my order has changed up a bit after becoming more health conscious. (Not saying I never sneak in a white chocolate mocha or chocolate croissant from time to time..) My new favorite go-to is a Venti Iced Coffee with Coconut Milk & 6 Pumps Chai. I can never stray too far from my original love.. ;) Did you know that the iced coffee has the highest levels of caffeine on their entire menu? (Caffeine = life). PLUS, it only has 2 calories, so it’s a double win in my book! Did you also know that Starbucks now offers…

Turkey Bacon & Veggie Egg Frittata

Sunday’s are for meal prep! When it comes to breakfast, everyone is different. During the week, I stick to either oatmeal, yogurt, or fruit. I also can’t eat until at least an hour after waking up & drinking a cup (or two..) of coffee. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is not like that, and needs more substance to power him through his mornings. I enjoy everything about the kitchen (surprise, surprise), so I cook for us 95% of the time. For breakfasts, I find it easiest to cook enough for him to eat throughout the week, prepackage it into containers, and make them very easy to grab on the go! I made this Turkey Bacon, Veggie-Packed Frittata for him last week & he loved it! You’ll Need: 10 large eggs 7 slices of…

Weekend Update- Sushi & a Health Question

These upcoming weeks are going to be very interesting. Dj is in Japan for work, my friends are visiting their families for Easter, and I’m trying to figure out ways to keep myself busy. I’ve never been the best at being alone; I get bored EXTREMELY quickly. Take, for example, that it is only Saturday night & Dj and my friends have only been gone for about 30 hours and I’m already driving myself crazy. This morning, I made sure to sleep in, picked up a few things from the grocery store, went to the gym, got clean, watched Grey’s Anatomy, went to Joann Fabrics, picked up some food, and now I’m back to binge watching Grey’s. It’s been pretty stormy here, but I’m hoping it clears up, since everywhere will be closed tomorrow…

Chocolate Banana Blueberry Cupcakes with Lite Whipped Peanut Butter Icing || Skinny & Nutrient Packed !

Chocolate Banana Blueberry Cupcakes with Lite Whipped Peanut Butter Icing

I’ve talked many times about how big of a sweet tooth I have. The love I have for chocolate is crazy! If I could, I would eat extra chocolate chip, gooey cookies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (I just caught myself daydreaming there…) HOWEVER, when it comes to sweets, I’m all about modifications, not about limitations. If I tell myself I can’t have something, it’s all I will crave. So, to bypass that, I’ll find recipes that sub in some healthy ingredients for a less-guilt treat! And thus- these magical, yummy cupcakes were brought into my life. When I saw this post on Taralynn’s blog a few months ago, I pinned it to my “must try” recipe list. However, as most pins go, I forgot about it.. Until now :). With a few simple modifications…

I lovvve hummus, I love easy recipes, and better yet- this recipe was ready to go in 40 minutes (prep, cooking, EVERYTHING!) After a few modifications and a very happy boyfriend, this recipe has been stowed away to the top of my “Go-To Recipe List”. Summer Time Ultra Hydrating Spa Water

Isn’t Mother Nature funny? Turning the weather from low 30′s to low 80′s in 5 days time is pretty crazy. With the constant fluctuating heat, it’s important to stay hydrated. This week, one of my best friends, Danielle & her boyfriend Max are visiting us! They spent all day at the beach and I met up with them later at the pool when I got off of work. With everything going on, it’s easy to forget to grab some water here and there. For an easier (super tasty & ultra hydrating) option, I made a gigantic pitcher of spa water to keep in the fridge! Spa water is very versatile with flavors, so it’s hard to get bored with (unlike regular water). Mixing fruits within you water provides extra health benefits; it helps provide…

Homemade Acai Berry Bowls

"Homemade-Acai-Berry-Bowls"

Weekends for us typically consist of eating out a lot. Wanting to give my bank account a break, I decided to challenge myself to use the weekends to try out new recipes I’ve been storing away and calculate just how much that ended up saving me! I live in Florida, but am originally from California. I have a ton of family out West & one of my brothers is constantly sending me snapchats of Banzai Bowls. I was immediately curious, so I took to Google to find out just how to make these bowls of this tasty power food. Since Acai Berry Bowls have not reached Florida (or I haven’t been able to find them anyway), I decided to try them out for myself. Acai berries are jammed packed of antioxidants and are a…

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Oatmeal

Starting off my mornings with oatmeal has become my latest obsession. For one, it’s warm and comforting, and it also comes jammed packed with health benefits. Being low in saturated fats, high in fiber to keep you full, and oats are also extremely versatile to work with! I’m feeling a little under the weather, so took today off from work, and needed something warm for my throat. Besides tea, oatmeal is another great comfort food for when you’re feeling sick. This oatmeal reminds me of my favvvorite candy, Reese’s, so if you’re also a chocolate & peanut butter fan, this is the oatmeal for you! You Need: 2/3 cup old fashioned, quick baking oats 1/3 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 1 tablespoon semi-chocolate chips 1 tablespoon chocolate peanut butter PB2 First, cook your oats…
