Hola, mis amores!  Last week, Dj and I traveled down to Cancun, Mexico to meet up with my best friend, Sara (remember her from our adventures exploring North Florida?), and her fiance, Waugh. None of had ever been to Cancun before, but Sara + Waugh bought this ridiculous vacation package while in Cozumel a few years ago. Wanting to take advantage of another trip before the package ended, we talked about doing a couples trip... aka Baecation (don't hate me, hehe.) So, on a whim, we looked online, found a 5 day block that worked for the 4 of our work schedules and booked the trip all within 48 hours. Labor Day Weekend Getaway

Weekends tend to fly by lately. It's nice when one slows down a bit and you actually feel like you had some time off. This past Labor Day weekend, my mom came down to Florida to visit for 3 days. We decided to go out to have a relaxing weekend in my favorite nearby vacation spot, Amelia Island. On Friday, we stayed in Jacksonville and had dinner on the beach. It was nearly empty out and a beautiful night! Life really is better on the sea; it's just so calming. Welcome to Miami!

This weekend was all about salt in the air & sand in our hair! If you follow me on Instagram [which you really should! ;) ] you would have seen that we went down to Miami Beach for the weekend. I've only been to South Beach once with my college roommate, Aubrey, but that was when we were 20 years old, and I knew I had to experience Miami again now that I'm living 4.5 hours away and of age! Since creating my  Summer Bucket List, I've been dedicated to complete it and Miami was #7 on that list! The water in Miami is so beautiful! Swimming in the Sea at Sunrise; Jacksonville, FL

This weekend was one for the books, to say the least. I was lucky enough to spend a few seasons throughout the past 4 years living abroad in London and have made some pretty awesome friends along the way. This past weekend, 2 of my friends came down and we reunited on the American soil of Jacksonville, Florida. Jonny, David, and I at JAX Beach Jonny, the one on the left, flew all the way across the pond and brought his sister, Jenny, and friend, Ben. Saturday afternoon, I made a huge brunch for all our friends while we sipped on mimosas and awaited Jonny's arrival. Refreshing My Mind; Amelia Island [pt. 2]

Another awesome thing about Amelia Island is that you're able to drive your car & ride horses right on the beach! Our horses loved one another & walked through the ocean; it was an amazing experience. {If you missed my part 1 Amelia Island recap, you can read it here!} Oh, and guess what? Refreshing My Mind; Amelia Island [pt. 1]

Sometimes, all you need is to get away and refresh your mind. It's been hard to find motivation lately. Whether it is challenging myself at work, working out as much as I'd like to, starting a new book, blog more, not procrastinate to the last minute on grad school assignments, pick up a new hobby... simply everything was just feeling a little "blah" lately. Of course, these ruts and moods don't last too long, typically, but I've found that getting away and some fresh air for your mind does wonders. Tucked away just under an hour outside of Jacksonville is Amelia Island, a historic state park located in Fernandina, Florida. My 2015 Summer Bucket List

Even though I've graduated from college & have been in the "real world" for a good year and a half, I'm still under the illusion there is such a thing as a Summer Vacation. Maybe it's from the 23-ish years that I'd had one, I'm not sure, but I do know that I'm not ready to give up the idea of one. There is something so tranquil, relaxing, and downright FUN about summer time. Maybe what we need to do instead is still find ways to make time to enjoy the things we love- and I'm doing that with a 2015 Summer Bucket List! Being a Tourist in Our Own City; St. Augustine

If you haven't caught up on my weeks worth of posts yet, Dj's mom & sister came down to Florida to visit! We jammed packed a lot through the 4 days (including our epic trip to Harry Potter World!) and, of course, we had to plan a day trip to St. Augustine. St. Augustine is only about 25 minutes away from us, and is definitely my favorite local spot.
