Operation: Drink More (jazzed up) Water!

An operation has commenced- one that I think you all should join me with- I need to drink more water!

I actually love water; I simply forget to drink as much as I should throughout the day. Regular water can also get pretty boring, and since I typically only drink either unsweetened tea, black coffee, or water, I wanted to add some variety to keep me interested in staying hydrated throughout the day.

You can flavor your water with pretty much any fruits and even some veggies! (Cucumber water- um, yes please). Since water is basically tasteless, it absorbs other flavors extremely well.

My brother, Chris, bought me these precious Mason jar cups at TJ Maxx for only $10! They come in a set of 4, have chalkboard paint labels on them, have a straw-sized hole in the lid, and also a set of 4 thick, reusable straws.

I prep these waters the night before work and grab them on my way out the door the next morning. Letting them sit overnight really helps enhance the flavors- I highly recommend doing this!

This one had:

  • Filtered water
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • ½ fresh lemon

Throughout the day you can keep refilling the jar with the same old ingredients inside- it will keep reflavoring the water.

For day 2 of my water mission, I used:

  • Filtered water
  • Fresh blueberries (would work better if you muddled them)
  • Fresh cantaloupe

This one had a very interesting flavor- I loved it, but you need to like melon. It’s a pretty sweet taste!
