DIY Glitter Keys; Getting Crafty
I have a bit of an obsession with glitter. When I was in middle school, I tried out using various glitter eye shadow, eye liner, belts, you name it, I had it.
Since then, I’ve toned down my amount of glitter body accessories, and moved on to the more age appropriate accessories (koozies, accent nails, subtle picture frames, and now, KEYS!)
I have a bunch of different keys; ones for my gym, my mailbox, my apartment, my parent’s house, ect ect.
To keep them easily separated and also add a pop of color to my key ring, I decided to get crafty and glitterfy them! (that should definitely be a real word)
These are actually SO simple to make and take about 5 minutes to do!
You Need:
- Your choice of glitter
- Mod Podge
- Keys
Take a small paint brush and paint a thin layer of Mod Podge on both sides of your key. **Make sure to only do the tops; you don’t want to mess up the ridges of your key! **
Sprinkle glitter on the Mod Podge so that no white is showing. Allow the glitter to set for about 2 minutes.
Paint another thin layer of the Mod Podge over the glitter. While it is white at first, it will dry clear.
It also dries pretty quickly, so just set it somewhere it can rest and fully set for about 30 minutes without smudging.
