Summer Time Ultra Hydrating Spa Water

Isn’t Mother Nature funny? Turning the weather from low 30′s to low 80′s in 5 days time is pretty crazy. With the constant fluctuating heat, it’s important to stay hydrated. This week, one of my best friends, Danielle & her boyfriend Max are visiting us! They spent all day at the beach and I met up with them later at the pool when I got off of work. With everything going on, it’s easy to forget to grab some water here and there. For an easier (super tasty & ultra hydrating) option, I made a gigantic pitcher of spa water to keep in the fridge! Spa water is very versatile with flavors, so it’s hard to get bored with (unlike regular water). Mixing fruits within you water provides extra health benefits; it helps provide…

Best Weekend Recipes

Did this week go by extremely slow for anyone else? I am so excited for the weekend! I don’t even have anything special planned.. which I’m actually really happy about for once. I recently joined a gym to see if that helps motivate me (so far, mixed results). They do offer unlimited classes, though, so I’m going to try to make it to spin at 9am Sunday morning. They do it in a black light room! How cool is that? Let’s all just keep our fingers crossed I wake up and go… :) When it comes to weekends, I like to keep my recipes simple and comforting. Below, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite weekend recipes & DIY projects! This weekend I’m working a lot with glitter (I promise an abundance of these…

Pomegranate Cherry Pie Moonshine

I have so much fun playing with different recipes- and yes, that includes drinks! Last night, the coldness of the rest of the U.S. hit North Florida. It was too cold to be outside, and with not being used to the cold weather, I was not in any mood to leave my apartment! When I get in those kinds of moods, I like to turn on Netflix, change into a sweatshirt and yoga pants, and get in the kitchen. I’m really excited about yesterday’s test recipe: Pomegranate Cherry Pie Moonshine. Um, yum! Homemade moonshine is one of my absolute favorite things. It may be because I am a West Virginia girl, but the stuff is amazing. However, it is extremely strong. So, please, keep this out of reach of children and remember that the…

Operation: Drink More (jazzed up) Water!

An operation has commenced- one that I think you all should join me with- I need to drink more water! I actually love water; I simply forget to drink as much as I should throughout the day. Regular water can also get pretty boring, and since I typically only drink either unsweetened tea, black coffee, or water, I wanted to add some variety to keep me interested in staying hydrated throughout the day. You can flavor your water with pretty much any fruits and even some veggies! (Cucumber water- um, yes please). Since water is basically tasteless, it absorbs other flavors extremely well. My brother, Chris, bought me these precious Mason jar cups at TJ Maxx for only $10! They come in a set of 4, have chalkboard paint labels on them, have a straw-sized…

Cinnamon Apple Pie Moonshine

‘Tis the season to turn my apartment into a DIY Santa’s Workshop! I love this time of year, and am obsessed with making my own gifts. I have a very large family so I need to start planning my holiday gifts early. While some people don’t agree with playing Christmas music, baking holiday treats, and gift prepping before Thanksgiving, I am not one of those people. :) Right after I change out of my Halloween costume, I am turning on my Christmas iTunes playlist. Coming from a large family has taught me to think of gifts early, and in this case, I am very glad I did. Homemade moonshine is one of my favorite things. It may be because I am a West Virginia girl, but the stuff is amazing. However, it is extremely strong.…

The Perfect Coffee 80 Calorie Treat

Happy weekend! And a very Happy Father’s Day to all the great dads out there. :) I’ve been a big fan of Taralynn for over a year now. She’s full of positive energy and finds ways to treat yourself in healthy ways! I highly recommend checking out her blog if you haven’t yet! You won’t be disappointed. This Starbucks order originated from her, but I have adopted it into my own! Now that the summer weather is in full swing, I am backing away from hot coffees and lattes and moving over to iced! This play on a frappuccino is great for these humid days, and only 80 calories. Can’t beat that! I ask for a tall or grande 3 shots of espresso blended up with ice and non-fat milk. It comes out pretty foamy,…

Weekend Update/ Typical Breakfast!

Happy weekend! Dj’s the cutest! While away in working in California this past week, he had my favorite flowers sent to me. :) So grateful for such a caring, sweet guy in my life! I was nervous that these 10 days that he is gone would be spent bored and making myself crazy. I know a lot of people cherish being alone, but I hate it. Luckily, I have made some great friends down here who I’ve spent all week with! Thank goodness for them! Yesterday, my friend Linsey and I went to Georgia to see her family. Her brother lives on the water and it was 90 degrees, so it was a really beautiful day. I love this stuff! Angry Orchard has an elderflower flavor that is my absolute favorite. Perfect for these…
