Summer Time Ultra Hydrating Spa Water

Isn’t Mother Nature funny? Turning the weather from low 30′s to low 80′s in 5 days time is pretty crazy. With the constant fluctuating heat, it’s important to stay hydrated.

This week, one of my best friends, Danielle & her boyfriend Max are visiting us! They spent all day at the beach and I met up with them later at the pool when I got off of work.

With everything going on, it’s easy to forget to grab some water here and there. For an easier (super tasty & ultra hydrating) option, I made a gigantic pitcher of spa water to keep in the fridge!

Spa water is very versatile with flavors, so it’s hard to get bored with (unlike regular water). Mixing fruits within you water provides extra health benefits; it helps provide glowing skin, aids in weight loss, strengthens your immune system, along with many others.

To bump up the benefits even more, I like to mix in coconut water. “[Coconut water is] better than a sports drink. Dubbed “nature’s Gatorade”, coconut water is a natural isotonic drink that provides many of the same benefits as formulated sports drinks, including the electrolytes calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium and potassium, but in their natural form.” – Body + Soul

So, needless to say, I make it my personal goal to drink as much of this magic drink & it’s not hard to do!

What You Need:

  • One very large pitcher (like THIS one!)
  • Equal parts coconut water & regular water (I used 4 cups of each)
  • 1 lemon
  • ½ grapefruit
  • 5 strawberries

[other options of great add-ins: cucumber, blueberries, limes, fresh mint, raspberries, kiwi, oranges]

Since you leave the skin on your citrus fruit, make sure you wash it all well! (same goes for the strawberries)

Once you have washed the fruits, slice them up!

Fill your pitcher up about ½ way with ice. Fill with equal parts coconut water and filtered water. I used 4 cups of each!

Toss in your fruits & stir.

This water can be served immediately, but gets better if it is able to soak for a few hours. This is also great to have out at social gatherings! I typically make this at night & serve the next day.

What do you like to mix-in your spa water?

Enjoy the weather!
